How would you describe your business?
We are a locally owned & operated concept in retail as well as dining! Offering over 1200 bottles of fine wine (from all over the world, with a huge domestic offering), 12 rotating drafts & over 200 bottles of craft beers to pair with our creative tapas! Focused on sustainability & fresh local food, we are committed to providing our guests with the best “farm to table” seasonal fresh ingredients, featuring our organic edible garden. Kori is a Certified Sommelier.
Can customers purchase a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner?
Yes, our concept is that. You can purchase a bottle of wine at retail price and pay a small corkage to enjoy in house with our tapas. It’s a huge value to be able to enjoy fine wines out at these prices. We always have features without the corkage as well, allowing customers to enjoy the wine for retail price.
What types of beer do you offer?
12 different rotating drafts of craft beer. We focus on seasonal offerings, while having something from each category – Lagers, Ales, Reds, Browns, Stouts, IPAs.
Do you offer any other types of drinks or drink specials?
We offer home made white and red sangria.
Please tell us about your food menu.
An eclectic spin on locally sourced ingredients. Royal Palm is a “from scratch” kitchen. We are not traditional Spanish tapas, but a true fusion of all cultural cuisines. Although we are tapas inspired, we are a full meal dining destination. Our chefs work creatively together to bring amazing new ideas to the plate daily.
What kind of Happy Hour specials do you have?
$4 house wines all day everyday and select beer features.
Who do you see more of at your establishment: wine or beer enthusiasts?
Both! In the past it’s been more wine enthusiasts, but we have watched the beer enthusiasts discover us and now look to us to bring in highly sought after beers!
Do you host any events that are wine or beer focused?
Yes, we sure do. We offer wine and beer pairing dinners. We host these about every month and a half or so; the best way to hear about these is to join our emailing list. Email email@example.com and write “add” in the subject line. We also post on Facebook and on our website.
What is your background in the beverage and/or hospitality business?
Serving at a restaurant in New York City, Kori found her passion for wine and became certified as a Sommelier. She traveled to Spain in an effort to use her international business degree exporting wine back to the US. Returning home for the holidays, she was offered a local position in wine sales that she couldn’t refuse; and while working here in the market, Kori met her business partner who was a wealth of industry knowledge. Shortly thereafter they devised the concept of Royal Palm Village Wine & Tapas.
What else would you like people to know about Royal Palm Village Wines & Tapas?
We pride ourselves in customer service. We are happy to special order any wines, and we can provide wines for weddings and large events. We also offer catering on- and off-site.
What would you like customers to tell their friends about Royal Palm Village?
It’s a very inviting and warm environment to enjoy yourself. A home away from home neighborhood feel. Food is unique, and the wine/beer selection is one of the most extensive in Jacksonville. It’s a great destination to come in and enjoy dinner and leave with a case of wine hand selected with you and someone from our knowledgeable retail team.
