Tags: , , ,

Wicked Barley Brewing Company opened last summer in a wooded setting on the banks of Goodbys Creek. Brewing its own hand-crafted beer, and offering a full, onsite kitchen, the brewpub features a full dining area, along with several outside seating options.  But, did you know that parents ….. and kids … like it, too!

What kinds of restaurant/bar areas does Wicked Barley offer its patrons?

Our facility includes a 2200 square-foot restaurant and tap room with multiple TVs, a large covered patio, a pet friendly waterfront beer garden, and a boat dock. Wicked Barley’s slogan “Naughty Ales for Noble Souls” speaks to our vision to provide creative and boundary-pushing beers served in a warm, entertaining family-friendly environment.  You will love making our neighborhood restaurant and tap room your second home!

Why do you consider your brewery family-friendly?

The kids tend to gravitate towards the outdoor beer garden space. Let’s face it, sometimes kids just need to run free! We have an assortment of outdoor games such as ring toss, Jenga and cornhole. Once kids are worn out, they can lounge in one our hammocks or relax in the Adirondack chairs located on the Kayak Cove beach.

What kinds of food menu items does Wicked Barley offer?

We like to describe our menu as “elevated gastropub fare” consisting of mostly comfort food with an emphasis on fresh and in-house made items. We offer a range of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads and wraps.

What kinds of kids’ menu items do you offer?

Our “Lil’ Devils” kids’ menu includes popular items such as chicken fingers, hot dogs, grilled cheese and PB&J. These include a choice of fries or fruit cup and juice box or fountain drink. Of course, we have other items that are popular with the kids, such as our Left Leg Lager Cheese Curds and House Made Pretzels. Our kids’ menu also includes games to keep the kids occupied!

Are activities for kids available during all of your open hours?

The activities are available during all hours. However, we generally see the number of kids taper off later in the evening.

Have there been any special events at Wicked Barley that kids have especially enjoyed?

At our larger public events such as Oktoberfest, there are usually games that children can participate in. We have also hosted several birthday parties.

Does Wicked Barley plan to host any family-friendly events in the future?

We are looking to add activities in the future. Possibly movie nights in the beer garden.

What would you like parents to know about Wicked Barley and the experience that you offer?

We’ve had families in mind since inception. We all have families and enjoy being here when we’re not working, whether it’s the outdoor space, boat accessibility, outdoor games and hammocks!

Cheers!
