This Saturday, March 4!
Born in Millen, Georgia, Wayne “Kountry Wayne” Colley has literally worked his way from the bottom to the stage. Known for his comedic flair, Colley has established a name and has built a brand for himself, becoming the face of the overnight success story of comedy. Immediately after graduation he obtained a job but eventually found his way to the streets where “Kountry Wayne” was born. “Kountry Wayne is the person rappers talk about, the visual image they paint that was me.” With dreams and aspirations of one day becoming successful in the music industry, he invested his life savings into a music venture. Colley owned two (2) clubs and started a rap career which he maintained for five years. While doing some soul searching, he realized that he had an innate gift that most people didn’t, and that was making people laugh. On October 2014, Kountry Wayne posted a comedy skit on social media that went viral, instantly creating a following on Facebook of over 3k fans. His follow-up strategy was to release over 1k videos to grow his fan base, and he did just that. With his hard work, he was destined to make it in the comedy industry. Kountry Wayne spent 16- 20 hours driving all over the country; from Virginia to Missouri just to break his way into the standup comedy industry.
“If opportunity doesn’t knock build a door”…..That is exactly what he did. Two years later, creating a fan base of over 3.5 million, headlining his own tour entitled, Kountry Wayne: Tax Refund Tour. From staying in a small country town in Georgia with two red lights, to performing in front of 10 thousand people alongside Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson. Although the road was rough, he kept the faith believing “Help was on the way.”
