Up next at Players by the Sea is In the Heights. The musical opens Friday, July 20 on the Jacksonville Beach community theater’s Mainstage.
The Tony Award-winner for Best Musical features music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda (also known for creating and starring in the Broadway musical, Hamilton.) In the Heights centers on an ensemble of characters in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood.
Players’ production is directed by Joe Kemper with musical direction by Anthony Felton and choreography by DeWitt Cooper. The cast features Matias De La Flor, Zoe Rosas, Rhea Milani, Isaiah Turner, Mario Noto, Andrea Cristina Vilarino, Jei Sevilla, Andrew Phoenix, Jessica Stewart, Raquel Lopez, Elijah Turner, Marcos Miranda, Cameron Thomas, Emely Cuestes, Gemma Smith, Angie Acedera, Robersy Romero, Mia Vasquez, Javon Wrighton, Jamil Abdur-Rahmen, Alex Aponte, Walter Johnson, Darnell Bennett, Joel Oliver.
Performances are offered July 20 through Aug. 12. Curtain is at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $28 general admission, $25 seniors, students and military. Thursday nights are Student Nights – Half price tickets at the door with a valid student ID.
