Dadley Productions releases official trailer for comedy short, Filling In
Lancaster, PA (February 17th, 2017) - Local filmmakers, Bradley Hawkins, and daughter, Sarah Hawkins, announced today that the theatrical trailer for their highly-anticipated comedy short film, Filling In, has been made available online.
Written by Peter Fenton, Austin Haitos, and Bradley Hawkins, Filling In follows a gentle giant of a man, down on his luck, considering a risky and covert career path that involves innocent children. To help him learn the ropes, a grizzled vet in the field takes him under his wing. Described as a “Breaking Bad meets Sons of Anarchy in Fairy World,” the comedy takes on a buddy cop dynamic between lead actors Jared Odrick and Karl Holtz, in this their debut acting performances.
Jared Odrick, NFL defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars, stars in the film as “Kevin,” an endearing, lumbering oof. His grizzled, and restless counterpart, “Mike,” is played by Rochester native, Karl Holtz. In an unusual twist of fate, both Odrick and Holtz are former students of writer-director, Bradley Hawkins, from two different generations, thirty years apart.
“Karl Holtz was a student of mine in 1980 when he was a drummer in the Spirit of Sunnyvale Marching Youth Band in
Sunnyvale, CA. Jared Odrick was just a junior in high school in Lebanon, PA when I had in both my Humanities and Film as Art classes. To be able to reconnect and serve as their film director on Filling In with them both now as adults has been a tremendously rewarding experience.” shares director, Bradley Hawkins.
The comedy short film’s principal photography was shot in Rochester, New York, with secondary photography throughout Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Although the film will be hitting the film festival circuit in the next few weeks, local audiences can expect invite-only premiere screenings later this spring.
