I may have said this before, but pizza is life. There are few, if any, dishes in this world that are almost always good. Pizza has to top that list. But there are a select few places that take pizza from the basic, commonplace slice to something greater. Mother Truckin’ Pizza is one of those places. They put themselves into their product and it shows.
On the day I visited I opted for a simple slice of pepperoni and a side of their garlic cheesy bread for good measure. The slices themselves don’t, at first glance, look like anything spectacular. As you can see from the pictures, they look like a slice you might get anywhere. They’re not ridiculously large or covered in unique or experimental toppings, but their perfection lies in their simplicity. The crust is a work of art; simultaneously crispy yet light and delicate. It’s firm enough to be eaten bent in half but won’t droop and drop grease all over you. The pepperoni is of high enough quality so you don’t regret eating it later that day and they make sure to cover your slice in plenty of it.
The garlic cheesy bread is where it’s at, though. Made from the same dough as their delicious pizza, it’s overloaded with unctuous garlic and slathered in ooey-gooey melted cheese. This is not something you want to order if you have a lot of meetings after lunch as everyone will smell it on you. That being said, it’s entirely worth it. The side of their homemade marinara is the perfect dipping compliment to the cheesy goodness, and you’ll want to mop up every drop of it with the bread.
So if you’re in the mood for a slice and are fortunate enough to have Mother Truckin’ Pizza anywhere near you, do yourself a favor and give them a try. They’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse.
