Jacksonville has quickly become famous for its passion for craft beer. With wonderful local breweries sprouting up all over the River City, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy a cold one while sticking to a healthy eating plan. Check out some of our favorites.

Killer Whale Cream Ale

Bold City Brewery, 2670 Rosselle Street, Jacksonville

At 120 calories per 12 oz. serving, Killer Whale Cream Ale is a great option for a light adult beverage. Created by Bold City Brewery, it’s described as “light, crisp and refreshing… with no bitter aftertaste.” Enjoy at home or on tap at the brewery!

Jon Boat Ale

Intuition AleWorks, 929 East Bay Street, Jacksonville

Jon Boat Ale is one of Intuition AleWorks’ original brews. Beertender Katie M. attributes it’s best-seller status to  the fact that it is “light in body and refreshing.” This popular favorite comes in at 135 calories per serving.

Raging Blonde Ale

Veterans United Craft Brewery, 8999 Western Way #104, Jacksonville

Brewmaster Ron Gamble calls Raging Blonde Ale a “knockout beer featuring a riveting hop flavor without the associated bitterness.” At 156 calories per 12 oz. pour, this beer is light enough to enjoy in moderation during the summer.

Aardwolf Pilsner

Aardwolf Brewing Company, 1461 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville

Coming in a little higher at 165 calories in a 12 oz. pour, the Aardwolf Pilsner is still a solid and enjoyable option. Aardwolf Brewer Alpha Michael details this brew as “light, crisp with malt background and a hint of fruit in it from the yeast and hops.”
