Summer is knocking at the door in the Sunshine State! The beaches are bustling and outdoor pool are opening for business. The cold fronts have passed, the sun is shining, and it’s time to hit the lap lanes.

Swimming is an amazing, low-impact component of any solid workout regimen. This cardio exercise improves strength and increases endurance. It also builds muscle and can help reduce blood pressure.

For an effective workout, all you need is a quality athletic suit, well-fitting goggles and a silicon or latex cap (if you want to protect your eyes and hair from harsh chemicals), and a length of pool or open water (with a buddy).

Mix up your strokes, speeds and distances to make the most of your efforts, and enjoy the results!
