Band Review: Sidereal

Sidereal:
Based out of Jacksonville Beach, FL,  Sidereal is a local band that never fails to serve up good vibes and a great show.
Sidereal defines themselves as a beach rock band whose sound features rich harmonies influenced by various artists and the band’s collection of different musical backgrounds. While multiple genres shine through the group’s music, Sidereal is heavily rooted in a dance-friendly and vocal driven reggae-style rock. Sidereal is a Jax Beach gem, but locals aren’t their only fans.

Sidereal has been touring regionally since 2011 and nationally since 2013, performing in iconic venues across the country. The band has headlined several successful club tours in Florida with multiple sold-out shows as well as supporting national touring acts like The Dirty Heads, Matisyahu, Less Than Jake, Slightly Stoopid, Sublime with Rome and more.
The band is comprised of five members including Colin Paterson (guitar, lead vocals), Kevin Beaugrand (bass), Niko Costas (drums), Blake Johnson (guitar, vocals) and Drew Palmer (keys, saxophone, vocals). Sidereal’s unique mix of musical talent gives them an edge that listeners can’t help but get into.
In January of 2014, the band released an EP titled Third Time’s the Charm which garnered mass attention after hitting the #1 position on the iTunes Reggae Album’s chart. Sidereal also appeared on the front page of the iTunes “Top Albums Under $8” category along with such artists as Bruno Mars and Maroon 5. The popularity of Third Time’s the Charm boosted Sidereal’s success and they haven’t come down since.
If you’re in the mood for something different, yet familiar, then see Sidereal for yourself at upcoming concerts and local music festivals, they won’t disappoint.
