Lauren Stafford is the president of Apryle Showers Foundation, a non-profit organization serving individuals ages 30 to 55 currently undergoing treatment for cancer. They offer a variety of different services that help foster nourishment, healing, restoration, and peace to people fighting for their lives.
Since last year, the organization hosted the annual Apryle Showers Foundation Prom for Adults, which is an annual fundraising event that celebrates cancer survivors and their battles. Stafford came up with the idea for a prom when she realized that she wanted to give adults the chance to dress up and have fun, just like they were teenagers again.
This year, the prom’s theme is “Hollywood Nights.” The event will host classic prom elements, such as a balloon arch and a photo booth. It will also have a silent auction, in which all proceeds are donated to the Apryle Showers Foundation, with prizes such as home wine parties, gift baskets, and spa packages. The prom will also be hosting the band Brightside.
The event is free for all cancer survivors and $50 if you would like to support a survivor. It will be held on April 21st, from 7pm-10pm at Nocatee Crosswater Hall.
